Eric and Suzy at "Strings", Drawing by Christopher Peterson. Welcome to our schedule page, here's where you can hear us during the next little while. Our new CD, which will be called "Test of Time", should be out in August. Meanwhile, you can hear us live and in person: Tues. April 1 - 10:30 to noon -- Suzy & Eric (and many others) at the groundbreaking of the NEW Freight & Salvage, 1111 Addison, Berkeley (across the street from Berkeley Rep). We're honored to have been asked to contribute some music to the festivities celebrating the groundbreaking for the Freight & Salvage's new digs in downtown Berkeley. Bill Evans will be there too and we might even try for a few songs with the Bluegrass Intentions! You can find lots more info about the Freight's new home at the Freight & Salvage website Thurs. May 1 -- KLEPTOGRASS at the Freight & Salvage. Eric will be joined by his all-star band: Scott Nygaard, Jody Stecher, Paul Shelasky, and Paul Knight. Freight & Salvage website Sun. May 4, 11 AM to 1 PM - Eric & Suzy at DiBartolo Cafe, Oakland Come enjoy brunch while being entertained by Eric and Suzy! Admission is free, but we hope you'll put something in the tip jar. We're subbing for DiBartolo Cafe regular Ray Bierl, who will be out of town. DiBartolo Cafe is located at 3308 Grand Ave, Oakland. Tues. May 13 - Suzy and Del Rey at the Freight & Salvage. Suzy teams up with guitar goddess, retro fashion plate and nonstop wit Del Rey, from Seattle. To read more about Del and see some of her fabulous clothes, visit Del Rey's website. Del and Suzy rock out on blues, swing, novelty numbers, hillbilly rags, and some of Del's original songs and tunes. Freight & Salvage website Sun. May 11, 1:00 PM - MOTHER'S DAY show with Kathy Kallick and friends at the Freight & Salvage. Suzy is pleased to be part of Kathy's annual Mother's Day show this year! Also playing will be Bill Evans, Tom Bekeny, and Steve Pottier. A show for kids, moms and dads, grandparents...bring the whole family! Freight & Salvage website Sat. May 17, 8:00 PM -- KLEPTOGRASS with special guest DAVID NELSON - Petaluma Church Concerts. Eric, Jody Stecher, Paul Knight and Paul Shelasky will be joined by one of Eric's oldest bluegrass buddies, David Nelson (New Riders of the Purple Sage). Eric, David, Jody and Jerry Garcia all played bluegrass in various combinations in the early 1960s, but never all in the same band at the same time! This one-time-only show will take place at First Church of Christ Scientist, 522 B St. (corner of 6th), in Petaluma. General admission, no alcohol, all ages OK. Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door. For more info, please visit Petaluma Church Concerts website or phone (707) 542-1894. Thurs. July 24 at 8 PM - the Todalo Shakers at the Mountain View House Concert Series. The Todalo Shakers (Eric & Suzy, W.B. Reid, Frannie Leopold, and Steven Strauss) reunite for a evening of vintage party-down jug band blues! Since Frannie lives in Mendocino, and W.B. lives in Seattle, Washington, we don't get to play together too often but when we do, it's magic. This will be our only public performance for 2008. Daniel's concerts take place in a medium-sized room that was designed specifically for music concerts - it's a wonderful intimate performance space. For info, reservations, directions, etc, please email Concerts@InstantHarmony.com (preferred) or phone (650) 947-9669. Fri-Sat. Aug. 22-23, Santa Fe (New Mexico) Bluegrass & Old-Time Festival. Eric & Suzy will return to this wonderful small festival in scenic Santa Fe. The old-time component is particularly strong this year, with the Freight Hoppers and the Sandia Hots in addition to Eric & Suzy. For more info, please visit Santa Fe Bluegrass & Old-Time Festival website or phone (707) 542-1894. Music Camps: We'll both be teaching at week-long music workshops in the Northwest this coming August, but not both at the same one. Suzy will be teaching at the Port Townsend Country Blues Festival; dates are July 27 - August 3, 2008. Eric will be teaching at the second session of the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop which runs from August 9 to August 15. Thurs-Sun. Sept. 11-14, Berkeley Old Time Music Convention This year's amazing lineup includes one of our musical heroes, Benton Flippen, plus several other great traditional musicians from North Carolina (Paul Brown, Frank Bode, Sheila Kay Adams), Rayna Gellert, Foghorn String Band, the Brandy Snifters (from Minnesota) and many of our other favorite old-time musicians! Visit BOTMC website for more details. If you are interested in booking Eric & Suzy (with a band, or as a duo) for your party, wedding, or other special occasion, please visit our Weddings and Parties page.
